Externally, the employee will work to build relationships outside of the Boise State&br&community in order to provide and maintain internship opportunities for students. The employee will&br&also work with the College of Business and Economics (COBE) and non-COBE departments and colleges to ensure smooth and effective delivery and growth of high-quality, excellent online programs.&br& &&Position Overview:&& &br&The position has the primary responsibility over internships within a new online certificate and emphasis area in the College of Business and Economics (COBE): Resort Operations and Hospitality Management. This person will report to the Chair, Management Department, or other supervisors as assigned.&br& &&Level Scope:&& &br&Fully competent and productive professional contributor who applies acquired job skills, policies, and procedures to complete substantive assignmentsrojects/tasks of moderate scope and complexity. Works independently with general supervision; exercises judgment within defined guidelines and practices to determine appropriate action. May provide guidance and assistance to entry-level professionals and/or support employees.&br& &&Essential Functions:&& &br&70% of the time:&br& &br&

  • Develop relationships with companies in the resort and hospitality industry to support&br&internship opportunities for both students and employers.&br&
  • Collaborate with the Online Programs Manager and other Boise State Department of&br&Management staff in the planning and management of the ROHM internships,&br&Promote positive, professional internship experiences for students, employers, faculty, and staff.&br&Represent the program in the community.&br&
  • Work with campus and COBE Career Services to identify resources for student placement.&br&&br&25% of the time:&br&&br&Be the instructor of record for internship courses offered each semester (fall, spring, and&br&summer).&br&&br&5% of the time: &br&&br&
  • Special projects as assigned.&br& &&Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:&& &br&
  • Strong working knowledge and understanding of the hospitality and resort industry.&br&
  • Familiarity with internship programs preferred&br&
  • Strong communication skills required&br&
  • Ability to make quick, rational decisions&br& &&Travel Requirement:&& &br&Ability to travel 20%+ of the time&br& &br&
  • Frequent local travel (& 1 hour driving) to meet with prospective and current internship&br&companies.&br&
  • 2 -3 times per semester overnight travel within the state (1 – 2 nights)&br& &&Minimum&&&& Qualifications:&& &br&Bachelor’s Degree and 2 years of professional experience or equivalent relevant experience.&br& &br&&&Preferred Qualifications:&&&br&
  • Prior experience in recruiting, talent development, university relations, internship program coordination, or similar&br&
  • Prior experience in resorts, hospitality, or other tourism-related roles&br&
  • Strong consulting skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, as a team leader and member&br&
  • Strong organizational skills&br&
